Welcome to the August Event!
Hello Everyone!
It’s Cybersecurity 1st Friday!
Remember that you are required to register for the event and check in once you arrive to activate your beverage tickets and your CEU/CPE certificate.
Dr. Murray is at DEFCON this week so we welcome Aikta Verma back as the co-host with Vinnie!
This month we will introduce Dr. Jane Harrington, CEO/Co-Founder, of MedMicroMaps where they are building a digital ecosystem for teens, including rigorous identity verification for both minors and their Guardians (parents/educators). They aim to create a space where kids can connect, learn, create and explore STEM, outside of traditional classroom settings!
Al Ortiz, CEO/Founder of CSD Cyber is also a PhD candidate completing his thesis! He will explain his research and request participation from 30 experienced cybersecurity professionals with red/blue team experience who have also been involved in a data breach. Participation will help him finalize the data and allow him to contribute to the literature in the field and give back to the cybersecurity community.
We will also hear from Lauren Shaw, Psy.D. an Organizational Psychologist on "Building a Security Culture People Want to Protect" and how building a strong security culture can improve both resilience and organizational performance.
Finally, we welcome back Joe Alvarez Cybersecurity Solutions Leader for National Defense & Space Systems and Mike Egnoto, Deputy of Integrated Solutions Team at Ensco, who are also this month’s sponsors! They will provide an expert update on their Defensive Cyber Operations (DCO) capability and discuss Purple Teaming!
This month's food truck is a new one, welcome Smokey D’s BBQ!
We will have updated community announcements and other event dates as well and we will have some additional Cybersecurity First Friday merchandise.
August’s First Friday will be held at Exponential Impact and is co-hosted by Murray Security Services and Colorado Springs Chamber & EDC.
