Colorado Springs World Affairs Council Global Colorado, Citizen Diplomacy Celebration for Gretchen Bliss
At a time when global engagement is more important than ever, the Colorado Springs World Affairs Council invites you to celebrate the power of citizen diplomacy and an individual who champion it.
Global Colorado will highlight the critical role that everyday people play in shaping international understanding within Colorado Springs through the vital cultural exchanges and conversation that lead it. By opening our homes, classrooms, and community spaces to global visitors, these citizen diplomats bring the world to Colorado Springs

This year, we are proud to honor Gretchen Bliss, a visionary city leader whose work in cybersecurity, education, and public service has advanced global dialogue and strengthened our local capacity to meet complex global challenges.
Bliss has an extensive background in cybersecurity, with over 25 years of experience. Before becoming heading UCCS Cybersecurity Programs, Gretchen worked as NORAD Deputy Senior Analyst and Chief of Plans. By supporting government efforts to understand what cyber is, Bliss helped the US government in efforts of cyber, information operations and warfare, and computer network defense/attack. Because of the these critical acts Gretchen exemplifies the spirit of citizen diplomacy by building bridges through integrity, intellect, and inclusive leadership.
This event is not only a celebration. It is a fundraiser to support the mission of the Colorado Springs World Affairs Council. Your generous donation will ensure we can expand to bring international professionals, youth, and leaders to our city, provide global education and opportunities to local students and residents, and promote Colorado Springs as a hub of global opportunity.
Join us to honor a community changemaker, invest in local global connection, and ensure that Colorado Springs champions global conversations. Together, we create a more peaceful, prosperous, and interconnected world starting right here at home.
